What to put in a bug report
- What happened, and what you expected to happen instead.
- What you were doing just before, and which screen you were on.
- Whether it happens every time, and the steps that make it happen if you know them. A screenshot helps.
- The version of the game, and what you are playing on: the computer or phone and its system version. The feedback link inside the game adds the version and the screen for you.
- On a computer, the game’s settings have a “Copy diagnostics” button. Pasting what it copies into your message helps us most. It is a plain text log you can read first, and it goes nowhere unless you send it.
Please do not include passwords or payment details in any message.
Questions
Where are my saves kept?
On your own computer or phone, in the game’s own data folder, never on our servers. On a computer that is a folder called com.sbs.golfthejourney, in Application Support on a Mac or in the app data folder on a PC, and your careers are the career files in its saves folder. On a phone they are inside the app. If you choose optional cloud saves in the mobile apps, a copy is kept in your account as well.
How do I back up my career?
Close the game, then copy the saves folder somewhere safe. To restore it, close the game and put the files back. The game also keeps recovery copies of its own, but they live in the same place, so they are no substitute for a copy of yours somewhere else.
Does the game work offline?
Yes. Playing needs no internet connection. The game on a computer makes no network connections. The mobile apps connect only for things you choose or need: optional cloud saves, the store’s purchase, and, if you opt in, usage and crash data.
